Meet Myles
I am compassionate and empathetic counsellor who is passionate about supporting people as they navigate seasons of difficulty, change, grief and emotional distress. I seek to provide a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, develop greater self-understanding and discover pathways towards healing and growth.
I have experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma. I have also worked extensively with vulnerable people through disability support and youth work, with more than eight years’ experience providing practical, emotional and spiritual support. Through these roles, I have supported people experiencing grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression and complex mental health challenges.
I take a holistic, strengths-based approach to counselling, drawing primarily from person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. I also incorporate trauma-informed approaches and have training and experience using therapeutic tools including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Release Protocol (ERP), where appropriate to a client's needs and goals.
As a Christian counsellor, I am committed to integrating faith thoughtfully and respectfully into the counselling relationship. Through my own experiences of navigating adversity and supporting others through challenging seasons has served to deepen my understanding of the importance of compassion, hope and connection. I believe that each person's story matters and that counselling can provide a place to be heard, understood and supported without judgement.
I specialise in addiction counselling, PTSD, anxiety and depression and I welcome clients from a range of backgrounds. I am committed to meeting each person where they are, while offering Christian faith integration for those who desire it.
