Meet Lyndal
When you talk to a counsellor, you want them to listen well, show compassion, be
non-judgmental and give you good support. Like all the counsellors at Hope
Christian Counselling, I am client centred, gentle and respectful.
I understand that family, community and past trauma can play a big role in our lives. I
include strengths-based approaches to empower you to harness your coping skills
to help you live your best life. As a holistic practitioner, I integrate approaches that
work on feelings, thoughts, behaviours and spirituality.
I am a trained and registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association.
My work is online and I also do walk and talk therapy in Tuggeranong (ACT) and
Queanbeyan. I enjoy running workshops and I am available various afternoons during the
week.
My 40 year work life includes teaching, chaplaincy, overseas Christian ministry and
community development. I am married with 2 adult children, and am a keen member
of an evangelical church in Canberra. Challenges I have faced in my own life include
multiple international moves, breast cancer, and anxiety in our family. My hobbies
are walking in nature (especially places where my dog is allowed), hospitality and
gentle gym activities.
